BY-LAWS

COLUMBUS BOATING CLUB

 

 

Article I :  Fees and Dues

 

            Section 1.  All yearly dues shall be paid or payable prior to March 31 of each year.  Members who have not paid their dues prior to the March meeting will be sent a notice by the Treasurer reminding them that unpaid dues that are more than thirty days in arrears and if not paid by April 30 of each year, will be cause for forfeiture of membership privileges.

 

            Section 2.  Each new member before their acceptance into  the club shall have paid all fees and dues in advance for the current year.

 

            Section 3.  The initiation fee for the C.B.C. shall be a one time fee of $150.00.

 

            Section 4.   The yearly dues for a family membership is

                               $100.00 (Amended  as of 10/15/06) starting in

                                March 2007.  Seniors over 65 will pay only $75.00

 

Article II :  Duties of Officers

 

            Section 1.  Commodore.  It shall be the duty of the Commodore to preside at all meetings of the C.B.C.  He may call special meetings or volunteer work days at his discretion.  He shall be the official contact with Georgia Power Company and anyone else having business dealings with the C.B.C.  He may make decisions of capital expenditures that will improve and or maintain the conditions of the C.B.C. property.

 

            Section 2.  Vice-Commodore.  It shall be the duty of the Vice-Commodore to assist the Commodore in the discharge of his duties and in his absence to act in his place.

 

            Section 3.  Treasurer.  It shall be the duty of the treasurer to keep an accurate accounting and records of all membership dues, and C.B.C. expenditures.  The treasurer will be charged with collection of dues and monthly payments of the C.B.C. Treasurer shall report monthly, to the Commodore, of the financial status of the C.B.C.  The Treasure is the only person authorized to issuue checks for any C.B.C. expenditures.  The Treasurer must prepare a financial report and review it at all general meetings.  A yearly report will be prepared for the annual meeting in March.   The treasurer shall review all mail received by the C.B.C.
